Where did Google's search button go?

Did you notice Google is testing removing the classic little "Google Search" button from its homepage?!

Yep: for people who visit without being signed in to a Google account, the usual button is replaced by three new shortcuts, Create images, Ask about files and Brainstorm, plus an AI Mode button right inside the search box.

In other words, the good old "type something and get blue links" is making room for a new way of searching! Traditional search is obviously still around, but down the road it may stop being the main front door, and AI will be the first thing to greet the user.

Pretty simple: if Google is pushing everyone into AI Mode before they even search, your content needs to be ready to show up inside those answers :)

With that in mind, two points are worth repeating:

• A clear structure (direct questions and answers, well-organized data) helps AI a looot to "understand" and cite your content.
• Being present in several formats (blog, social media) raises your odds of showing up somewhere in these new answers.

Google has not confirmed whether everyone will see this homepage (it may just be a gradual rollout, released by account, location and so on). But even without knowing if it will stick, we can already see where Google and SEO/GEO are heading.
